The Montessori Child Development Centre is a Montessori based program. We follow and implement the basic principles of Montessori philosophy .It is an approach based on the observation of child and it caters the whole personality development by satisfying all the developmental needs of the child.
We believe in providing an environment that is thoughtfully prepared and supports child’s natural desire to acquire skills, an environment that is intellectually and artistically alive, warm and encouraging where children can investigate, create and explore new ideas. Our rooms are equipped with compelling activities that children choose themselves .Montessori Materials take the child on a personal journey of discovery and mastery. Thus we control the environment, not the child.
We value each child’s individuality .We make best practices to unleash each child’s potential to ensure their smooth transitions from weakness to strength, from dependence to independence regardless of their background or home situation. We help the child to help himself .Each child’s interest is respected and contributes to our centre.
We understand families, schools and community greatly influence the development of a child and they are important to our program. We seek and respect input and ideas from parent children, staff and we would love to incorporate those in our planning.
We feel it’s an obligation on us to protect the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of each and every child .Our objective is to help each child build strong foundation which will support their healthy development, both as individuals and as members of their community.
We intend to provide a safe, fun and happy place for each child where he feels comfortable and takes it as an extension of home or a second home.
The MCDC is fully licensed , approved for affordability grant and subsidy, inspected announced/unannounced, by the Health Inspector and liscensing officers and their inspection reports are available and posted on parent board .
We base our programming on the observations of children showing interest in something and then we plan activities related to that theme .SO far we have covered many interesting themes including Dinosaurs, Transportation , Time and Measurements, Plants ,Wild animals, Space, Seas and Oceans , Family, Music, Human Body, Winter Fun etc. We also celebrated special Days and did lot of Craft work for each theme which is kept in their craft folders for record.
We have room schedules posted in each room which help us follow variety of activities including art and craft ( open –ended and planned), circle time, self -directed free play time, theme-based activities, outdoor play time, literacy and science etc. We post our ROOM SCHEDULE on the wall in each room so you will also know how we accommodate so much fun in a day.
We believe open parent/caregiver communication is extremely important in fostering a partnership which will in turn be beneficial to your child’s overall happiness and well-being. We are always open to your feedback, positive or negative! If you have a question or concern please feel comfortable to approach the Director, as well as your child’s teacher. We always keep a communication book in the centre for any message you need to communicate to the staff or management. We use Brightwheel app to update parents about child’s day so that you can get the idea about the activities and themes going on in the room
